Japan has filed a formal diplomatic protest with China after two incidents on Saturday in which J-15 carrier-based multirole fighters from the Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning locked their fire-control radars onto Japanese F-15Js. The F-15Js had been scrambled in response to potential Chinese airspace incursions near Okinawa in southern Japan.
