IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi stated that Iran does not appear to be actively enriching uranium at the moment, though the agency has recently observed renewed activity at several of the country’s nuclear sites.

“However, the nuclear material enriched to 60% remains in Iran,” Grossi said. “This is one of the key issues under discussion—we need to return and verify that the material is still there and has not been diverted for any other purpose.”

Grossi added, “We are conducting inspections in Iran and gradually resuming our work, but we are not inspecting the sites that were bombed.”
