IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir stated that Israel’s recent strike on Iran during the 12-day conflict could help advance its goals in Gaza. While visiting the Strip, Zamir said the blow dealt to Iran may shift momentum in Israel’s favor.
He noted that the IDF is nearing its objectives in the current phase of Operation Gideon Chariots, which aims to establish control over 75% of Gaza. Once achieved, additional military strategies will be presented to the government.
Zamir reiterated the two core aims of the campaign: dismantling Hamas and securing the release of hostages. He was accompanied in Gaza by senior military officials, including Southern Command head Maj. Gen. Yaniv Asor and Ground Forces chief Maj. Gen. Nadav Lotan.
