Ukrainian Special Operations Forces launched a significant drone strike this morning targeting Russia’s Savasleyka Air Base in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, located over 400 miles southeast of Moscow. According to the Ukrainian General Staff, initial assessments indicate that the attack destroyed a MiG-31K interceptor—commonly used to launch Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles at Ukraine—along with a Su-30 or Su-34 multirole fighter. The strike marks another major setback for the Russian Air Force, capping off what has been one of its most damaging two-week periods since the start of the war.
