IDF Statement:

The IDF recently conducted precise strikes on senior Hamas terrorists operating from a command center near Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis. This facility was used to plan and carry out attacks against Israeli civilians and security forces.

Ismail Barhoum, who took over as a key figure in Hamas’ financial and institutional operations within its political bureau, was eliminated in a targeted strike at the hospital last March.

Hamas continues to exploit the hospital for terrorist activities, using civilians in and around the facility as human shields in a deliberate and callous manner.

To reduce civilian casualties, the IDF employed precision-guided munitions, aerial surveillance, and extensive intelligence prior to the strike.

The IDF and Shin Bet remain committed to decisively countering Hamas threats to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens.
