According to Axios, U.S. President Donald J. Trump will not stand in the way of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s proposed military campaign to “fully conquer and occupy” the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli Security Cabinet is set to vote Thursday on a contentious plan to expand the current war by advancing into Central Gaza — including Gaza City — a move expected to displace up to one million civilians and take several months to carry out.

Two U.S. officials confirmed that President Trump has no intention of interfering with Israel’s decision. One noted that Trump was particularly impacted by a recent Hamas video showing an Israeli hostage being forced to dig his own grave. “It influenced the president, and he’s going to let the Israelis do what they need to do,” the official said. However, they also clarified that the Trump administration does not endorse any Israeli efforts to annex territory in Gaza.
