This past week, the U.S. launched some of the most significant strikes so far of the ongoing military campaign against the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist group in Western Yemen, targeting and completely destroying the Ras Isa Oil Port in the Hodeidah Governorate on April 17, resulting in the death of at least 80; with over 100 additional strikes having been carried out since last Thursday. Strikes in the past 72 hours have targeted command-and-control centers, missile and drone launch sites, underground-munition storage facilities, as well as dozens of other military and infrastructure sites linked to the Houthis. Additionally, strikes are continuing against Houthi bases and defensive positions near the frontlines to the south and east, in preparation for possible future ground operations by partner forces, including the Yemeni Armed Forces.
