In a recent post on Truth Social, U.S. President Donald J. Trump said the United States is “very close” to achieving its objectives in the conflict with Iran and is considering scaling back military operations in the region.

He outlined the key goals as:
1. Fully degrading Iran’s missile capabilities, including launch systems and related infrastructure.
2. Destroying Iran’s defense industrial base.
3. Eliminating its naval and air forces, along with anti-aircraft systems.
4. Preventing Iran from developing nuclear capabilities, while ensuring the U.S. can respond rapidly and decisively if needed.
5. Providing maximum protection to regional allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and others.

Trump also addressed the Strait of Hormuz, suggesting it should be secured by the countries that rely on it. He added that while the U.S. could assist if requested, such involvement may not be necessary once Iran’s threat is neutralized, describing the task as a relatively straightforward military operation for those nations.
