On Saturday, three states announced they would deploy hundreds of National Guard members to Washington, D.C., under Joint Task Force - D.C. (JTF-DC) to support President Trump’s D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force. West Virginia committed 300 to 400 Guardsmen, South Carolina pledged 200, and Ohio promised 150, following a request from the U.S. Department of Defense, which has already deployed 800 Soldiers and Airmen from the District of Columbia National Guard to the capital.
