A curious detail is that some sources are sharing this video claiming that the jet broke the sound barrier, but that’s not the case. What we see in the video is what’s called a "transonic vapor cone," a vapor cone that forms around an aircraft when it approaches the speed of sound without breaking it. In transonic flight, the air can move around certain parts of the aircraft at supersonic speeds, but the aircraft itself does not.

It’s a very beautiful phenomenon, both visually and sonically!
