The recent Knesset vote on annexation was a deliberate political maneuver by the opposition aimed at creating division during Vice President J.D. Vance’s visit to Israel.
Both bills were introduced by opposition members of the Knesset. The Likud party and its religious coalition partners did not support the legislation — with the sole exception of one disgruntled Likud member who was recently dismissed from a committee chairmanship.
Without backing from Likud, these bills have no realistic chance of advancing.
