The IDF has announced that it killed Hakem al-Issa, a founding member of Hamas and a key architect of the October 7 massacre, in an airstrike last night in Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood.

Al-Issa served as chief of staff for Hamas’s combat support division and was one of the last senior operatives still active in Gaza. He previously oversaw the group’s training division, led force build-up initiatives, and held a seat on Hamas’s military council.

Throughout the war, he was involved in planning air and sea attacks and played a central role in efforts to rebuild Hamas’s damaged military infrastructure.
