IDF Spokesperson:
IDF forces have launched a focused and limited ground operation against Hezbollah terrorist targets in the area near the southern Lebanese border.
Following the political leadership's decision, the IDF began a few hours ago a targeted ground operation in southern Lebanon against terrorist targets and Hezbollah infrastructure in several villages near the border, from where there is an immediate and real threat to Israeli communities on the northern border.
The IDF is operating according to a detailed plan designed by the General Staff and Northern Command, for which forces have been trained and prepared in recent months.
The ground forces are being supported by airstrikes from the Air Force and artillery units, which are targeting military objectives in the area in a coordinated effort with ground forces.
The phases of the campaign have been approved and are being carried out according to political decision-making. Operation Northern Arrows continues in line with the situational assessment, alongside the fighting in Gaza and other fronts.
The IDF continues to fight and take all necessary actions to protect the citizens of the State of Israel and ensure the safe return of northern residents to their homes.
