Trump described today’s meeting between his Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Russian President Vladimir Putin as having made “great progress,” he announced this morning a 25% increase in tariffs on goods imported from India, citing India’s continued oil trade with Russia. The White House also confirmed that significant primary and secondary sanctions against Russia are still expected to be implemented following the President’s Friday deadline.
