The Arleigh Burke-Class Guided-Missile Destroyer, USS Stockdale (DDG-106) who deployed earlier today from Naval Base San Diego in support of U.S. Northern Command’s Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB) in the Eastern Pacific, with an attached Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment (LEDET); will replace the USS Spruance (DDG-111), who only deployed roughly three weeks ago on March 22nd to support the border mission and returned yesterday to San Diego. It’s not known why the Spruance’s deployment appears to have been cut short, or why they have suddenly been replaced by the Stockdale.
