According to Politico, citing two sources familiar with the discussions, the United States rejected a proposal from Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia’s Direct Investment Fund, during a meeting in Miami, Florida last week with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Dmitriev reportedly suggested that Russia would stop sharing intelligence with Iran on U.S. bases and infrastructure in the Middle East if Washington agreed to halt intelligence-sharing with Ukraine.
The rejection of the proposal appears to reinforce reports that Russia has been providing targeting data to Iran, aiding its ability to strike U.S. assets in the region amid ongoing U.S.-Israeli operations.
