According to The Telegraph, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked President Donald J. Trump for BGM-109 “Tomahawk” Land Attack Cruise Missiles (TLAMs) during a recent closed-door meeting. The U.S.-made missiles, with a range of up to 1,500 miles, would be capable of striking Moscow.
Sources described the meeting, held on the sidelines of the United Nations, as highly positive. Zelensky reportedly argued that access to such advanced weapons would pressure Vladimir Putin into negotiations with the U.S. and Ukraine. President Trump is said to be “open” to Ukraine’s request for long-range cruise missiles and other sophisticated systems.
