The video shows the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, and Syria’s new leader, Abu Mohammad al-Julani. Despite his former ties to al-Qaeda—the group responsible for the September 11, 2001 attacks that killed nearly 3,000 American citizens—al-Julani began distancing himself from al-Qaeda in 2017, attempting to rebrand his group, HTS, as somewhat less extreme.

According to multiple sources, Trump demanded that al-Julani recognize the State of Israel and establish formal diplomatic relations, as well as cut ties with pro-Iranian groups and the government in Tehran. If confirmed, this would represent one of the most significant geopolitical shifts in the Middle East, with Syria becoming an ally of Israel and the West—and an adversary of Iran.
