According to The New York Times, during yesterday’s meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded that Russian be recognized as an official language in Ukraine and that protections be granted to Russian Orthodox churches. He also rejected the prospect of future meetings or peace talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a stance that reportedly angered U.S. President Trump.
