According to NBC News, a forthcoming report by the Pentagon Inspector General—expected to be finalized within weeks—is likely to conclude that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth shared classified information regarding the strike campaign against Iranian-backed Houthi forces in Yemen. The alleged disclosures, which may have been made using his personal device, reportedly occurred in at least two separate group chats on Signal in March. Some administration officials, including Vice President JD Vance and his staff, are concerned that the findings could further undermine Hegseth’s standing within the Pentagon.
