North Korean state TV has released a video honoring the “heroes who gave their lives in defense of the homeland” — referring to the North Korean soldiers Kim Jong-un sent to Putin in exchange for food, fuel, and military technology, who were killed in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

There are no official figures, but sources indicate that around 40% of the initial North Korean force has been killed or wounded in the war.
