Trump acknowledged that certain moves by Putin could lead him to support Ukraine.

Goldberg (The Atlantic): “Is there anything Putin could do that would make you say, ‘You know what? Now I’m on Zelensky’s side’?”

Trump: “Not necessarily on Zelensky’s side, but on Ukraine’s side — yes. I’ve had my issues with Zelensky. You’ve seen that.”

Goldberg: “Can you imagine a scenario where you would step in — not with troops, but by fully backing Ukraine with weapons and support to defend its borders?”

Trump: “It doesn’t have to mean weapons in the traditional sense. There are many types. It could be sanctions, financial tools, banking restrictions — those are weapons, too.”
