Protests have broken out tonight in Kyiv and several other major Ukrainian cities following the passage of a controversial new law by the Verkhovna Rada and its immediate signing by President Zelensky. The legislation transfers authority over anti-corruption investigations from independent bodies — including the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) — to the Office of the Prosecutor General, which operates under direct presidential control.
