Russian fiber-optic drones are now being used in ambushes, lying in wait for targets. A Ukrainian FPV drone recently filmed Russian UAVs connected to fiber-optic cables, positioned along a frontline road to strike passing vehicles.

These drones can be guided either by a Mavic operator or through their own onboard cameras when visibility is good.

With the spread of this “optics” technology, Russian FPV ambushes along roadsides have become systematic and pose a serious threat, even on routes in rear areas.
