Trump has said on the Truth Social app that his son Don Jr. will be visiting Greenland to visit “magnificent sites there.” Reports also indicate that his son will also be shooting a podcast and/or video likely documenting his trip to the island. Trump has previously floated buying Greenland from Denmark, who dictates Greenland’s defense and foreign policy, but has since been rebuffed by Greenland’s prime minister, Múte B. Egede, who said that “Greenland is not for sale.” While Egede has spoken about a referendum to gain full independence from Denmark, it remains to be seen how well the current government will take increased pressure from a future Trump administration on the subject.
