A Russian Su-35 multirole fighter was shot down earlier today over Kursk Oblast in western Russia, reportedly by a Ukrainian F-16 using an air-to-air missile. The pilot is said to have survived and was later rescued by Russian forces. This marks the eighth confirmed loss of a Su-35 by Russia since the beginning of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
