The U.S. State Department has approved a potential Foreign Military Sale to Bulgaria involving a Naval Strike Missile Coastal Defense System (NSM CDS), with an estimated total value of $620 million.

The proposed package includes Tactical Naval Strike Missiles (NSM), three Link-16 Multifunctional Information Distribution System – Joint Tactical Radio Systems (MIDS-JTRS), inert and telemetered NSMs, mobile fire control centers and missile launch vehicles equipped with communications systems, NSM transport loading vehicles, NavStrike-M GPS receivers, operator training consoles, Simple Key Loaders (SKL), and other non-lethal equipment.

Additionally, the deal covers a range of support elements, including technical publications, training materials, simulators, spare parts, integration services, software support, and both U.S. government and manufacturer-provided technical assistance. The prime contractor for the deal is Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace AS, based in Kongsberg, Norway.
