A Ukrainian fiber-optic drone has set a new range record: 42 km. Thanks to fiber optics, these drones are immune to electronic warfare, but they are limited by the size of the fiber spool they carry, which typically ranges between 10 and 20 km. However, drones with much greater ranges are now beginning to emerge, especially for more specific missions such as destroying ammunition depots and vehicles whose locations are already known, as was the case shown in this video.
