An Antonov An-22 “Cock” heavy military transport aircraft with the 196th Military Transport Aviation Regiment — one of only three still in active service with the Russian Air Force — crashed earlier today into the Uvodskoye Reservoir near the western Russian city of Ivanovo. Search-and-recovery teams are currently combing the reservoir and surrounding area for wreckage. All seven crew members and passengers aboard are believed to have been killed.
