Satellite image shows Russia’s 51st Arsenal before today’s massive explosion

Located northeast of Moscow, the 51st Arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) is one of the largest and most critical storage sites in Russia’s military infrastructure.

According to intelligence sources, the facility housed large stockpiles of artillery shells, MLRS systems, components of air defense systems (like the S-300), and tactical missiles. Judging by the magnitude of the explosion, it’s believed that a significant portion of this arsenal was destroyed.

The Russian government has denied any Ukrainian involvement, attributing the blast to “violations of safety protocols.”
