The president of Iran has said that the country’s capital, Tehran, will have to be evacuated due to a lack of water. According to him, this option—despite being costly—“is no longer optional.”

For decades, Iran invested heavily in its nuclear program (partially destroyed in the U.S. attack) and in financing terrorist groups in the Middle East, such as Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis, while neglecting vital infrastructure projects like dams and water-management programs needed to supply the capital. The result of this irresponsible policy can now be seen in the imminent urgent evacuation of nearly 10 million people.
