Floyd Brown, a far-right activist…

Floyd Brown, a far-right activist and conspiracy theorist known for promoting anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and false claims about former President Barack Obama, has been removed from his position as Vice President of Development at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The decision followed inquiries by CNN regarding his appointment.

Brown has previously described homosexuality as “a punishment” upon America and denounced the legality of same-sex relationships as contrary to Christian values. He also perpetuated discredited conspiracy theories about Obama’s birth and religion.

After his dismissal, Brown issued a lengthy statement on X, asserting that he was terminated due to his refusal to renounce his “Christian beliefs on traditional marriage.” He criticized Kennedy Center President Richard Grenell, an openly gay man, for allegedly offering no explanation for his removal, claiming: “My only conclusion is that Richard Grenell was intimidated by a CNN story, which hasn’t even aired or been published, and so he preemptively fired me for my Christian beliefs on marriage.”
