Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated that Russia and the U.S. are allegedly engaged in "certain contacts through diplomatic channels," the details of which, according to him, "make no sense to disclose."

According to Ryabkov, there is currently "no schedule" for contacts between Putin and Trump. However, he believes that "agreements will be reached as the situation becomes clearer."
