U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, on selecting the next Federal Reserve Chair, stated:

“We’ll be presenting three or four candidates to the President. The new Chair will need to be deeply knowledgeable in monetary policy, regulatory policy, and capable of managing an institution as vast and complex as the Fed.”
