Roman Starovoit, former governor of Russia’s Kursk region, was found dead near Moscow. Russian police stated it was a suicide. His death came just hours after President Putin dismissed him from his position as Minister of Transport.

According to Reuters, Russian authorities reported that he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
