The U.S. State Department announced today that it has designated four Iran-backed paramilitary groups — Harakat al-Nujaba, Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada, Harakat Ansar Allah al-Awfiya, and Kata’ib al-Imam Ali — as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. All four groups had already been listed as Specially Designated Global Terrorists due to their ties to Iran.
