National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi confirmed in a closed session of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee last Sunday that Israel maintains “direct, daily dialogue at all levels” with the Syrian regime under Abu Shar’a al-Joulani, stating, “I’m leading it with political elements there.”

Hanegbi also suggested that both Syria and Lebanon could eventually join the Abraham Accords.

When asked whether Israel had agreed to withdraw from buffer zones, he responded, “If normalization happens, we’ll understand it,” but made clear: “We will not withdraw from the Syrian side of Mount Hermon.” (Source: Israel Hayom)
