Angola Protests Erupt Over Fuel Prices:
A taxi strike over a 33% diesel price hike in Luanda has escalated into violent unrest, leaving 4 dead and more than 500 arrested.
What began as a protest by drivers quickly grew into a broader revolt, with thousands blocking roads and clashing with police. Protesters stoned public transport and set fire to billboards of President João Lourenço, as outrage over rising fuel costs gave way to deeper anger over governance and economic conditions.
Authorities struggled to regain control as even peaceful commuters were caught in the turmoil.
