NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced today that in response to the recent intrusion of several dozen Russian one-way attack drones into Poland, the alliance is launching Operation “Eastern Sentry” along NATO’s Eastern Flank. The mission aims to reinforce defensive posture in Poland and the Baltic states. Several member nations have already pledged support: Denmark will deploy two F-16s and an anti-air warfare frigate, France will send three Rafales, and Germany will contribute four Eurofighter Typhoons. Additional commitments from other allies are expected in the coming days and weeks.
