Israel is deeply concerned that the United States is nearing a “bad deal” with Iran that fails to meet key conditions necessary to prevent the Islamic regime from acquiring nuclear weapons, according to Channel 12. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and an unnamed senior military officer held an urgent meeting this week to discuss the matter. Netanyahu also spoke by phone with U.S. President Trump on Tuesday, who reassured him that the goal of the deal was to “leave no trace” of Iran’s nuclear program and confirmed that the 60-day deadline for reaching an agreement still stands, which alleviated some of Israel’s concerns.
