Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has announced the activation of the “Independence 200 Plan” in the Carabobo and La Guaira Integral Defense Zones of northern Venezuela, citing “aggressive maneuvers” by the United States in the southern Caribbean. The plan involves all branches of the National Bolivarian Armed Forces, including the Bolivarian National Militia.

As part of the operation, defensive and security measures have been implemented at key infrastructure sites—such as airports and ports—in Caracas and across northern Venezuela, with particular emphasis on the deployment of military forces to Maiquetía International Airport.

Earlier today, Buk-M2E surface-to-air missile systems were observed deployed at Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda Air Base in Caracas, while anti-tank concrete barriers were seen pre-positioned along the Caracas–La Guaira Highway near Maiquetía Airport.
