
⚡️U.S. Central Command has announced that Coalition Forces under Operation Inherent Resolve, carried out several Defeat ISIS (D-ISIS) Operations in Iraq and Eastern Syria, between December 30th and January 6th.
These Operations included the targeting of several ISIS Camps and Sites in the Hamrin Mountains of Northern Iraq; during which Coalition Forces came under fire from ISIS Militants, resulting in a Wave of Airstrikes by F-16s, F-15s, and A-10s of both the U.S. and Iraqi Air Force. The A-10s, operating in support of Ground Forces, were able to eliminate multiple ISIS Terrorists hiding with in nearby Cave, and firing at U.S. Forces. During the Operation a Coalition Fighter was killed, and Two Soldiers from different Countries suffered Injuries; with No Casualties being taken by U.S. Personnel.
Additionally, between January 2nd and 3rd, Anti-Terrorism Elements of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), with the support of CENTCOM, carried out an D-ISIS Operation near the City of Deir ez-Zor in the East of the Country; which resulted in the capture of an ISIS Attack Leader.
Following these Operations by both U.S. and Allied Forces, the Commander of CENTCOM, General Michael E. Kurilla stated, “Partnered operations like these are critical to maintaining pressure on ISIS and preventing the terrorist group from taking advantage of the rapidly changing security environment in the region. The enduring defeat of ISIS is a global effort that relies on our Coalition, allies, and partners. U.S. Central Command remains committed to aggressively pursuing these terrorists that threaten the region, our allies, and our citizens.”
