⚡️Texas’ Department of Public Security (DPS) confirmed the details of an exchange of gunfire between Border Patrol units and what was suspected to be cartel members earlier today. According to Texas DPS and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), earlier today, border patrol agents were fired on from the Mexico side of the border while moving to interdict a number of migrants crossing the Rio Grande River near Fronton Island (Fronton Texas). No reported injuries from the incident, but a spokesperson for Texas DPS has said that Mexican military elements were seen staging on the opposite side of the border after the incident. Texas DPS is now patrolling the area near the disputed Fronton Island.
