According to The Washington Post, citing an internal U.S. alert reviewed by the outlet, a drone strike impacted the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center in Baghdad, Iraq, earlier today.
The facility—used as a logistical hub for U.S. diplomats and located near Iraqi military bases and Baghdad International Airport—was reportedly targeted by Iranian-backed militias in what an unnamed security official described as retaliation for recent joint strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran.
Of the six drones launched in the attack, five were intercepted, while one struck the facility. No injuries have been reported so far.
