Today, Russia marks the two-year anniversary of the illegal annexation of the Ukrainian regions of Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson, which together account for about 15% of Ukraine's territory, roughly the size of Portugal. This annexation directly violates the United Nations Charter and is therefore considered illegal, recognized only by two countries: the dictatorships of Syria and North Korea.
