According to several senior officials cited by the Financial Times, the United States has informed allies that it is ready to contribute military assets and battlefield support — including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, command and control systems, as well as aircraft and air defense capabilities — to back a potential European-led peacekeeping mission and aerial defense shield over Ukraine. The proposal, conveyed in a series of recent meetings between U.S. national security officials and military leaders from Britain, France, Italy, and other key European nations, is conditional on European allies committing tens of thousands of troops to Ukraine.
