Trump is said to be contemplating military action against Iran and has been presented with a range of targets, including elements of the security services responsible for the violent crackdowns against protesters, killing hundreds in cities across Iran. However, commanders in the region have warned officials that they need more time to prepare, in order to “consolidate U.S. military positions and prepare defenses” before carrying out any strikes that could trigger serious retaliation from Iran, sources familiar with the discussions have told The Telegraph.
