The Peruvian government has confirmed a $3.5 billion deal to purchase 24 JAS 39 Gripen E/F fighter jets from Sweden, opting against the U.S.-made F-16s and France’s Rafale jets. Meanwhile, Colombia is also expected to finalize a purchase of around 20 Gripens in the coming weeks.
