⚡️The Intelligence Directorate of the Syrian Transitional Government has now said that they stopped an attack by the Islamic State (ISIS) on the Sayeda Zeinab shrine on the outskirts of Damascus. The group was intercepted and arrested before they could carry out the attack on the shrine. If true, this would not be the first time that ISIS has targeted the shrine—with a 2017 attack that claimed the lives of 40 people being the most deadly.
