Vladimir Putin spoke with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian today.
According to a statement from the Russian president’s office, the two leaders held a routine exchange, with Putin expressing support for Iran and offering condolences for the loss of senior decision-makers.
The statement also said that Russia maintains a “principled stance in favor of an immediate cessation of hostilities and the rejection of force as a method to solve any issues.”
That position appears to contradict credible reports suggesting Russia has been providing Iran with targeting information related to U.S. bases and infrastructure across the region.
